Noida plots: Court hearing today

A bench of the Allahabad High court will hold the second hearing of the petition filed by an applicant of the Noida residential plots on Tuesday.

The court ruling will decide the fate of 1.27 lakh applicants who have put in their money on the allotment scheme of 625 residential plots in various posh sectors of the city.

The Noida authority officials also have their fingers crossed on how harsh the court ruling would be on them.The CEO of Noida authority, Avanish Awasthi told Newsline that he was also waiting for the court hearing. He informed that all relevant papers, as desired by the court, had been sent to Allahabad. In its earlier hearing, the bench had directed Noida authority to maintain status quo and had ruled out any move to cancel the scheme. The High Court bench had also called for submission of details of the lottery.

Govt to file reply on corruption charges against IAS officers

Lucknow : The Allahabad High Court today directed the State Governemnt to file its reply on the PIL seeking a CBI probe into the charges of disproportionate assets against 11 senior IAS officers in the state. New Delhi: The Supreme Court Friday disapproved of the manner in which the Uttar Pradesh and Delhi governments were fighting each other on the telephone tapping incident involving Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh and asked the chief ministers of the two states to discuss and resolve the matter. SC stays CBI probe in Noida plot scam

THE Supreme Court today stayed the Allahabad High Court order directing a CBI probe into the NOIDA land allotment scam and restrained the authorities from going ahead with the fresh draw of lots for the NOIDA residential plot scheme. Admitting a bunch of petitions challenging and seeking stay of the High Court order, a bench comprising Justice B.P. Singh and Justice R.V. Raveendran stayed the direction for a CBI probe against officials and employees of NOIDA, UPDESCO (Uttar Pradesh Development System Corporation Ltd) and state government, who were allegedly responsible for manipulation in the draw held on July 2, 2005.
