LUCKNOW: The government has taken a decision to bear all the expenses to be incurred on the treatment of all victims of Meerut fire incident. An amount of Rs 4.40 crore has been sanctioned for the treatment of fire victims, says an official press release.
In this ghastly incident, 46 people have so far died and 121 sustained serious injuries. Of the injured people, 48 people are being treated in Meerut, while 44 people are admitted to hospitals in Ghaziabad, Noida and Delhi.
The government had already distributed an amount of Rs 2.18 crore, including Rs 2 lakh each to the dependants of this fire incident, Rs 1 lakh each to the seriously injured ones and Rs 50,000 to those who sustained minor injuries. The fire victims have been given the option to get themselves treated in the hospitals of their choice.
