As many as 35 people were hospitalised here late on Saturday night after food poisoning. The admitted belonged to a private company at phase II and had consumed the food served at the factory mess.
The sick have been admitted to the Prayag hospital 41 and the condition of five is stated to be serious. According to doctors, the patients complained of nausea, vomiting and palpitation. Talking to Newsline, a doctor said that most of the persons were allowed to return after treatment. However, twelve of them are still admitted in the hospital.
According to the employees, a dead lizard was found in the food they were served. But by the time it was discovered, many had consumed the food and fallen sick. The management of the factory refused to comment on the matter and said that it will come up with a formal statement after ascertaining facts.
