Planning a major foray into service apartments segment, international player Oakwood Worldwide would launch 11 five-star category temporary housing facilities across India over next three years.While the brand is already operational in Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore with four properties, it will have operations in prominent Indian cities such as Chennai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Thiruananthapuram and Ahmedabad by 2012.
Oakwood Worldwide, which runs resorts and service apartments in United Kingdom, USA, Singapore and a number of Asian countries, plans to run properties in three different categories in India. The Oakwood Premier category provides for a long-term stay in five-star deluxe category rooms while the Oakwood Residence has five-star standard residential flats. The Oakwood Apartments category is meant for tier-two and tie-three cities and has compact service apartments.
The brand has so far launched four properties in the country while 11 new locations are under construction. Speaking to Business Standard , Oakwood’s country general manager Vikas Kapai said, We have signed 11 new deals with different real estate developers. We expect to have two properties operational in each of New Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad by 2011.

Taj Group to launch Taj Premium brand
According to ET, the Taj Group of Hotels plans to introduce a new hotel brand, Taj Premium, in place of its Taj Residency brand, which will be phased out. The first property under the new brand may launch by end August 2008. The brand will target upscale business clientele. EXL plans 1,000-seat facility in Noida
Third-party BPO company, EXL Service, will invest over $4 million to set up a new centre at Noida with capacity of 1,000 seats. "The centre is expected to be operational in 30 days. It will give us capacity to service the existing and new clients, including the recent win from British Gas. New Delhi : LG Electronics, consumer durable major, on Thursday, said it plans to spend a considerable sum of Rs 1.24 crore annually on training engineers, and will undertake various programmes to enhance their customer service network. LG has set up four training centers across India, namely, Greater Noida, Pune, Chennai and Kolkata and its training module will focus on the technical and behavioral aspects, over and above the field of training itself. HCL Tech to hire 35,000 techies
New Delhi: The countrys fifth-largest software exporter, HCL Technologies will set up three Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Noida, Chennai and Bangalore over the next two years and will hire about 35,000 software professionals to man them.
